Description
Spreading, highly branched summer annual rooting at lower nodes. Leaf blade short and wide, smooth on both surfaces, often partly folded or creased near the tip. Ligule a narrow membrane fringed with a ring of short hairs. Spikelets on underside of the two to six ascending branches. Angle of branches resembles a signal flag. Fruits in midsummer.
