Annual Fleabane (Erigeron annuus)

Annual fleabane has leaves that alternate, and are simple, oblanceolate to linear. Annual fleabane is similar to rough fleabane, but has more leaves and is taller. The root of fleabane is a taproot to fibrous. Annual fleabane has an upright growth habit.

Annual fleabane flowers in the spring through the summer. Annual fleabane's flowers consist of white ray flowers with yellow centers (similar to a daisy), and form in clusters. Annual fleabane reproduces by seed.

Annual fleabane is found throughout the United States except in the extreme north.

Cultural Practices:
Annual fleabane is found in dry open areas such as roadsides and waste areas. If the area can be cultivated, due so in the early spring. Due to its upright growth habit, regular mowing will prevent flower formation and seed development, preventing the spread of annual fleabane.

Herbicide Use:
Make your post-emergent herbicide application to fleabane that is young and actively growing.
